Have you ever wondered what separates the really successful people from the rest of the crowd?
What have the great philosophers and inventors throughout the ages in common with the successful people of our time? Why can we not command the same successful life?
Perhaps what holds us back from achieving all we want in life is simply that we do not allow the Law of Attraction to enter into our lives. We all attract things into our lives. What we are today is the result of all of our thoughts up to this time.
How many times have you thought about someone, and then out of the blue met them at an unplanned meeting, or your phone rings and you react to the voice at the other end by saying, ‘I don’t believe it I was just going to ring you.’ Coincidence, I don’t believe so.
Although we have made tremendous progress in medicine there is a final frontier to conquer, and it is not space, it is our minds.
Let me illustrate the power of the mind in two ways.
I play golf and my partner’s handicap, apart from playing with me, is five, let us just say he plays better golf than I do.
This is not a golf lesson and irrespective of handicaps certain things take place as we individually approach our shots. My partner ‘SEES’ his next shot soaring in a gentle curve toward the green, he does not see what I see when I play my shot. I to do is use your .....‘SEE’ the rough down the right hand side of the fairway, the lake on the left, and you can guess that my ball is going to go straight, yup straight for the rough or the pond.
We are both using the power of the philosophers and inventors, we dwell on the end, it’s just a different end, so I suppose that we are both successful in reaching the end we set out for. Did I deliberately think about putting my ball in the water or rough? No, of course not, but I did see them in my thoughts as obstacles. I did think about not being as capable as my partner to hit a shot ignoring those obstacles.
Just the same as when you are driving your car, if you constantly look to the left and not straight ahead your car drifts to the left, without any voluntary action by your hands on the steering wheel. Your mind tells your hands where to steer and your mind is driven by the images that you place there either mentally as in golf or physically through your eyes as in driving.
In other words our thoughts are governed by visualization.
Professional athletes and other highly successful people use the power of visualization technique on a regular basis. Why?
Results of a 20-year study of the effects of visualization on results revealed an amazing discovery. Humans see pictures on the screen of the mind when thoughts are being processed; i.e. when they think of things.
For example, close your eyes for a moment, but read this bit first. Now think of an elephant. What would do you see? Is it the word ELEPHANT that pops up on the screen of your mind or a visual image?
We think in pictures. Watch a professional athlete as they prepare for a race. They limber up to warm up the muscles, but before they go down on the starting blocks the highly successful runners either stand staring straight ahead or have their eyes closed. What are they doing, they are visualizing reaching the winning tape and it is only when they almost physically feel the tape break with the weight of their body getting there first, do they get down on the blocks prepared.
The athlete is accessing a memory from his mind that was instilled when he last broke the tape ahead of the field. He was as Mohammed Ali called it - creating future history.
With this example in mind, here is a behind-the-scenes look at how to use visualization to achieve any goal.
Visualize an outcome (dwell on the end) you want over and over again to build 'cells of recognition' in your memory bank, just like the athlete, the low handicap golfer or any other successful ......
